WIP Day - Decisions

Hello WIP Day, we meet again.
Let's dive right into those updates, shall we?

PN:
I have come to a decision.  Gasp!  I know!

The reason I have just been sitting around twiddling my thumbs is, well, that's part of this art.  The querying process.  Sitting.  And waiting.  Well, my waiting has come to its time limit.  Not to mention my self-confidence hasn't really been appreciating getting rejected.  I know it is all still part of the game and we need to be tough, but each one still hurts regardless.  They say it only takes one... Yet...

I thought about tucking it away until we all forget it ever existed.  Maybe querying even more agents until my brain explodes. Neither of those felt right for me.

I have decided: I am going Indie.
That's right.  Self-published world, here I come.  While the agents I did query didn't feel Prison Nation was the book for them, I still love it.  It is the first book I have completed.  It is my writing love child.  That's right.  My baby.  And it deserves a binding that will eventual crack, a cover that will someday tear, pages that will crinkle and dogeared.  The life of books, isn't it grand?

I haven't set a release day.  Yet.  Right now I am brainstorming on that lovely cover, while planning to do one more edit sweep.  It has been a few months since I read it last.  There is sure to be something I missed.  In about a week, once photos are hopefully near done and before I get too much into prepping for NaNoWriMo, I will dive in.

Stay tuned.  Dates will be announced.  Soon.  Ish.
Nervous!

In other News:
The photo editing backlog is dwindling, thank goodness.  Man it feels good to cross those names out!

ITB is still sitting in first draft form, waiting to someday be read.  Honestly, editing is not the fun part.  I dread it.  But it is what makes the book beautiful.  So, after this year's NaNoWriMo, I am coming for you ITB.

Oh!  Ok.  So I am having a hard time picking which book to read next, after I finish devouring The Omen Machine.  So I thought to turn to all of you awesome followers for your two cents.

Here are three books at the near top of my TBR shelf (Such a massive shelf.  More like a bookshelf.  Jam-packed.  It's a beautiful thing!)  I would love you thoughts... so click next to the title you think I should read (and review) next! And... GO!

That seems to be it for this week's WIP day.  How is yours?

Happy Writing!

I wish you the best of luck with the self publishing route. It'll be a different tackle all together. :)

I'mma chapter and a half into my new novel and loving it so far. Truthfully it's a lot different then what I have done before and I am excited to see what others think.
That's my WIP.

Well, how long have you been querying PN for? I'm still curious as to whether you got it beta-read?

Trisha - I started querying PN about 4 months ago, then sent out a whole mess a few weeks later. I know querying can take much longer than that...

As for betas, I did. I had about 5 beta readers, with full out edits and responses from 3. It is tempting to do more... but let's just say at this moment I am dragging my feet on getting that editing on ;)
