WIP Day - Week One of NaNoWriMo
Hello bloggers and followers!
How is your week going?
Mine?
Insane.
This post will be short and sweet, being as my mind is barely working and my fingers are hosting a typing revolt.
Week one of NaNoWriMo is now past. That's right. Today marks day 9 of the crazy writing month. My first week went by fairly well, I must say. I rocked the first couple days, hit my stride for a few, fell into a total slump that only allowed a smidge of words to make it to screen, then made up for it with a final hurrah.
My word count, as of last night (November 8) now stands at: 20,006
That's right. I broke the 20k mark. Only 5k away from that half-way line.
Needless to say, I am tired. There have been moments where my fingers literally stop working and start typing complete gibberish that is supposed to be words but passes as... uh... *brain fart*
Now, though I am not at the same awesome mark I was at this time last year, I am still fairly happy with this story I am creating. It is creepy. Fantastical. Eerie and hopeful. It is so completely different than last year's NaNovel it is hard to believe I wrote that one in this same madness. I am enjoying Redone Shadows, and anxious to see where it pulls me next.
That's right. I do not know. I have a faint idea, a hope. But pantsing tends to allow the book to write itself, and I am discovering it all as it unfolds.
Here is a little sentence I wrote last night, that I do like if I may say so myself:
PN Update: Oh, wouldn't you like to know...
In Other News:
Awesome writer and friend Keary Taylor just released some cool news. Vindicated, book three of the Fall of Angels trilogy, is about to be released. I love Keary, and you need to love her too.
The surprise? Along with Vindicated, she is releasing a novelette of a companion to the final book. WHAT? She didn't even tell me about this. I was mega surprised, and am very excited to read Afterlife. Make sure to check it out! And if you haven't read her books yet... Do it!
Way to totally surprise us all, Keary! What do you have up your sleeve next? One can only wonder.
How is your writing going? Any bragging out there? Whining? Head bashing? Do share!
Happy Writing!
